Counselors at Camp Kitti
Camp Kittimaquundi helps girls develop their character and create true friendships. Camp Kitti is looking for high school & college girls who want the challenge of mentoring these campers as counselors and role models this summer.
Counselor Responsibilities
1. Supervision of campers the whole week at camp.
2. Assisting or teaching sports, arts and crafts, theater, music or dance instruction
3. Giving a daily character development talk
4. One-to-one camper advising
5. Striving at all times to be an example of character for the campers and fellow counselors
6. Lead daily prayers and Rosary with campers.
Information for Interested Applicants
- Applying counselors must be able to attend one of two preview application days: March 14 (10AM - 3PM) or April 18 (1PM - 5PM). Both will take place at the Van Ness Center (5115 Van Ness St NW, Washington, DC 20016). The preview application weekend is mandatory for consideration as a counselor.
- Accepted counselors must be able to attend a mandatory counselor training on August 7 from 10AM - 5PM at the Yuma Center (4101 Yuma St. NW, Washington, DC 20016). Counselors must be at the West River Center by 11AM on Saturday, Aug 8.
- Counselors must be age 16+ and/or rising juniors by the start date of camp.
- Head counselors must be at least 18 years of age and will undergo a background check.
- All counselors must undergo our training sessions, including safe environment training.
- All applicants must complete an interview with a representative of Camp Kitti.
- Previous counselor experience at Camp Kittimaquundi does not guarantee you a position in 2026. In fact, there are no guarantees of acceptance, so please take this application process seriously. We have limited spots for counselors.
