Camp Kitti 2023: August 6th-11th
Camp Kittimaquundi is a unique summer experience for girls entering 4th-7th grade, plus a group of 8th graders who are selected to be captains. We aim to help girls and young women develop the Christian and human virtues necessary for becoming a positive influence on family, friends and society. Through a blend of fun summer activities, times of prayer, virtue talks, and one-on-one mentoring, we offer an environment where girls can learn to grow in friendship with their peers and with God wherever they are.
At Camp Kittimaquundi, we believe that every human person has the potential to grow in virtue amid all kinds of work and play. This vision animates every activity at camp, from daily Mass and virtue talks to tidying the cabins and playing games. In every context, we encourage each girl to consider how she can develop her strengths, overcome challenges, and help others, with the goal of fostering a deep sense of joy.
Camp Kitti is founded on the teachings of the Catholic Church and inspired by the life and teachings of St. Josemaria, founder of Opus Dei, which encourages people to seek holiness in and through their everyday activities.
Our foundational principles are based on a Christian understanding of the human person. The Camp Code articulates the particular virtues we uphold as practical encouragement and as a standard of behavior for everyone at camp.
1. Be punctual.
2. Be everyone’s friend and think of others.
3. Be orderly: a place for each thing and each thing in its place.
4. Play to win, but learn to lose.
5. Have a continuous spirit of service.
6. Be cheerful, be strong, don’t complain, encourage others.
7. Always be feminine.
8. Be sincere: tell the truth always, no matter how hard it may be.
9. Be responsible and fulfill your tasks.
10. Respect all authority and be prompt to obey.
